Clothing, Equipment and Safety
-
Wear warm, flexible layers that allow you to bend and move comfortably. Curling clubs can feel cool even when the weather outside is mild. Thin gloves and warm socks may also help you stay comfortable.
-
Bring clean, dry indoor athletic shoes with flat rubber soles. Outdoor shoes, wet footwear, heels and open-toed shoes are not suitable for the curling ice. Clean footwear helps protect the playing surface and provides better grip.
-
Yes. Icons on Ice provides the curling equipment required for the experience. You do not need to own a broom, slider or delivery stick.

Curling takes place on ice, so slipping and falling are possible. Every session begins with a warm-up and safety orientation. Participants must follow the host’s instructions, move carefully, avoid running and stay aware of other players and moving stones.
-
No. Participants may learn a traditional sliding delivery or use a delivery stick. Let the team know about mobility, balance or comfort needs before the session so the available options can be discussed.
Accessibility and Participation
-
Some parts of the experience may be adapted, including the use of a delivery stick. Accessibility can vary by venue and participant needs. Contact the team before booking so venue access, on-ice participation, and reasonable adaptations can be confirmed.
-
Venue accessibility must be confirmed for the specific booking, as Icons on Ice may occasionally use different curling venues in Calgary. Contact the team before booking with details about the access required.
-
Age requirements may vary by experience, venue and booking date. Review the booking page for your selected session or contact Icons on Ice before booking for a child or youth participant.

Spectator arrangements depend on the venue and session capacity. Contact the team before booking so they can confirm whether a non-participating guest can attend.
