The Olympian or Elite Icons on Ice Experience
Discover Calgary through the game that helped shape it — guided by someone who has played it at the highest level.
The Elite Icons on Ice Experience is the ultimate way to experience curling in Calgary. This immersive two-hour experience combines Calgary storytelling, curling history and hands-on play with a rare opportunity to learn from an Olympian or elite-level curler.
Your experience begins with the stories behind Calgary and the sport before you head onto the ice. After a warm-up and safety orientation, your elite instructor will introduce you to the fundamentals — delivering a rock, sweeping, communication and strategy — while sharing insights and techniques gained through years of high-level competition.
Then it’s your turn to put those lessons into action. Play a lively mini-game alongside your group, get tips from someone who knows what it takes to compete at the highest levels of the sport, and discover why curling is as much about strategy and teamwork as it is about skill.
Finish with the Icons on Ice Honorary Curler tradition — brooms raised, oath taken and a photo to remember the day you learned one of Canada’s most iconic sports from one of its elite players.
No curling experience required. Just bring your curiosity — your Olympian or elite instructor will take care of the rest.
