What It Feels Like to Float

During your experience, you will rest comfortably on a floating mat with a soft blanket as you are guided into a state of calm. From there, you will be immersed in a soothing sound journey designed to help the body soften, the mind become still, and the stresses of the day gently drift away.

Unlike a traditional sound bath, floating allows your body to feel supported and almost weightless. The gentle movement of the water, combined with layers of calming sound and vibration, creates an immersive experience that can feel both grounding and ethereal.

Meet Your Practitioners

Barb Konotopsky

Shaman, Reiki Master, Certified Sound Bath Practitioner, Spritual Teacher

I am a Shaman, Reiki Master, Sound Bath Practitioner, and Spiritual Teacher devoted to supporting healing, empowerment, and personal transformation.

My work is rooted in creating safe, heart-centered spaces where individuals can reconnect with themselves, awaken their inner wisdom, and embrace their authentic path.

Through spiritual guidance, Reiki energy healing, sound bath practices, mindfulness, and sacred connection, I help others nurture balance in mind, body, and spirit.

Using the healing vibrations of sound alongside energy work and intuitive practices, I create experiences that encourage deep relaxation, renewal, and inner harmony.

I believe healing is not about becoming someone new—it is about remembering who you truly are beneath the layers of life.

I am passionate about building community and guiding wellness experiences, including women’s circles and supportive gatherings where connection, self-discovery, healing, and growth can flourish.

My intention is to inspire others to bloom into their power, honor their journey, and reconnect with their inner strength and wisdom.

My mission is to create nurturing spaces where every person feels seen, supported, empowered, and encouraged to heal, connect, and thrive.

Lorna Penner

Registered Massage Therapist, Shaman, Certified Sound Practitioner

I am a compassionate wellness practitioner whose journey began more than eight years ago when I became a Registered Massage Therapist. While studying and building my practice, I discovered that I was highly empathetic and sensitive to the energy of both my clients and the spaces around me. This awareness inspired me to begin a personal path of growth, self-discovery and healing, guided by both modern therapeutic practices and ancient wisdom.

Drawn to a deeper understanding of holistic healing, I trained under a shaman versed in the ancient Peruvian tradition of the Medicine Wheel. I completed the Medicine Wheel three times, culminating in a transformative journey to Peru. There, I spent 10 unforgettable days participating in ceremony and working alongside High and Master Shamans. I visited sacred sites, including Machu Picchu, and immersed myself in the teachings, traditions and energies of the Andes. During this journey, I deepened my understanding of shamanic practices and received High Rites from Master Puma.

Inspired by my experiences in Peru and my growing understanding of energy medicine, I continued expanding my practice by becoming a certified Sound Bath Practitioner. Through the therapeutic vibrations of crystal singing bowls and other healing instruments, I create immersive sound experiences designed to encourage deep relaxation, support emotional release and promote energetic balance and alignment.

By blending my knowledge of the body through massage therapy with shamanic healing and sound therapy, I offer a unique, heart-centred approach that supports the whole person—body, mind and spirit.

I believe true healing begins when we reconnect with our innate wisdom and create space for transformation. My intention is to empower each person I work with to rediscover their inner strength and embrace a life of greater peace, balance and authenticity.

Fun experience!

We had a great time in our 4-person rented raft, thanks to the professional and friendly staff at Lazy Day. Would definitely recommend them to others. Free parking, logistics was easy, and when the float is over, you can enjoy Prince's Island Park and Eau Claire.

Great time on the river

Lazy Day Raft Rentals made rafting down the river effortless as they had the raft ready for us at Baker Park and helped pull us out after the Peace Bridge -- Thanks for making it so easy!

Wait...isn't Lazy Day a rafting company?

Since 2007, Lazy Day has been helping people slow down, reconnect and create lasting memories on Calgary’s Bow River. What began as a simple idea—making it easier for people to enjoy a beautiful day on the water—has grown into one of Calgary’s most recognized outdoor experiences.

Over the years, we have welcomed families celebrating milestones, friends reconnecting, visitors discovering Calgary for the first time and locals seeing their city from an entirely new perspective. Our greatest measure of success has never been the number of rafts we rent or the awards we receive. It is the smiles at the end of the journey, the stories people share and the knowledge that we helped create a moment they will remember for years to come.

That sense of connection has always been at the heart of Lazy Day. A float down the river offers something increasingly rare: time to pause, breathe, laugh and be fully present with the people around you. We have seen how powerful those moments can be, and they have inspired us to imagine new ways of helping people step away from the pace and pressure of everyday life.

For years, it has been our passion to expand into wellness experiences that carry forward the same care, creativity and commitment that built Lazy Day. Experiences designed not simply to entertain, but to restore, inspire and leave a meaningful impact.

Lazy Day Wellness is the next chapter in that journey. Through immersive experiences such as floating sound baths, guided relaxation and thoughtfully designed moments of connection, we are creating spaces where people can slow down, release stress and reconnect with themselves.

The setting may be different, but our purpose remains the same: to create unforgettable experiences that bring people joy, deepen connection and become part of the memories they carry with them long after the day is over.
